Jaymit Patel

Mr Patel is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. He leads the Prosthodontics service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, and leads in the oral rehabilitation services for both Head and Neck Cancer, and Cleft patients. He has research interests in quality of life and public health, provides post-graduate education across the United Kingdom, and examines at specialty level at the Royal College of Surgeons.

Mr Patel has introduced numerous improvement projects to improve head and neck cancer outcomes, including the introduction of national quality standards for oral health in head and neck cancer care, development of a safety net oral health network in Yorkshire (safe discharge network), and development of rapid oral rehabilitation pathways for cancer patients. This has been supported by cancer care fellowships in the Netherlands and Canada. His PhD is investigating oral health related quality of life outcomes in oral cancer.
