Oracle Cancer Trust 2016 Golf Day

Our eighteen teams couldn’t have asked for better conditions at our Golf Day in late September at the stunning Burhill Golf Club in Surrey.  The sun shone throughout the day and the course was in superb condition giving our golfers of testing round of golf on the scenic and undulating Old Course. The on course challenge “Beat the Pro” raised £590 for the Charity and we are very grateful to London IT Support experts WeSeeNow for sponsoring the welcome bags for our golfers.

Following golf our teams enjoyed entertainment courtesy of Bob “the cat” Bevan, a silent and live auction, questions and answers and the all-important announcement of the winning teams.

The day was held in memory of golf day founder Derek Lucie-Smith who sadly lost his brave and long battle with cancer earlier this year.  In memory of Derek, Oracle founded the “Derek Lucie-Smith Memorial Trophy”, a replica of the famous Open Claret Jug, which this year was won by Julian Buck.

We were delighted that our day raised over £7,000 and look forward to welcoming friends new and old to our golf day in 2017.
