The Glory of Christmas 2017

We were delighted to welcome over 500 guests to our 12th Glory of Christmas Concert at the wonderful concert venue of St John's Smith Square.  This year the audience were treated to festive classics, carols and song by the Choir of Christ's College, Cambridge with the Thames Chamber Orchestra conducted by Keith Marshall.  Over 70 nurses and support staff also attended the evening from hospitals in London and Oxford thanks to the generosity of our donors.

This year our President Jimmy Mulville was our guest speaker.  Jimmy is a leading comedy writer and producer of some of the UK's best loved shows such as Have I Got News for You and Drop the Dead Donkey.  Jimmy was treated for throat cancer over 15 years ago and shared his story of how life has moved on following his treatment.

We also welcomed actress Clare Holman as guest reader.  Clare's husband was leading theatre producer Howard Davies who lost his battle with throat cancer in late 2016.  ENT Surgeon Stuart Winter also read to the audience.  Following the concert a drinks reception was hosted in the Crypt which was kindly sponsored by The Strategic Communications Alliance.

On the night we were delighted that over £4,000 was collected in donations to support our work.
