9th Annual Charity Spring Ball in aid of Oracle Cancer Trust raises over 3k
Long term Oracle Cancer Trust supporter Angela Bryant, who was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in 2010, hosts annual charity spring ball for the 9th time and raises £3,603 for the Head and Neck cancer community.
Angela Bryant was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in 2010 and following her treatment, knew she had to take on a challenge to help her recovery, whilst also feeling inspired to raise money for the wider Head and Neck cancer community. An adventurer at heart she hopped on to her bicycle and cycled from Oxfordshire to Paris in 2010. In 2013 came a different type of challenge as she decided to take on organising her first Charity Spring Ball, a wonderful evening filled with live music, fabulous food, and fundraising activities. When asked what motivated her, Angela stated: “I have an overwhelming need to give back and build awareness, which has given me the energy and drive to organise the ball for the past ten years.”
At this year’s Charity Spring Ball marked its 9th edition and also marked Angela’s 60th birthday celebration. Having had to take a break from the ball during the pandemic, it returned last year with all covid guidelines in place and this years edition had it’s own challenges as everyone is affected by the cost of living crisis. Nonetheless the event raised an incredible £3,603 for Oracle Cancer Trust, which will help us reach our ultimate goal of ensuring everyone has the best chance of beating Head and Neck cancer.
We asked Angela how she felt about this year’s ball, and she stated: “The highlight of every event is totally up the amount raised on the night. I knew it was going to be difficult this year, understandably, so I was thrilled with the final total.”
The entire team at Oracle Cancer Trust couldn’t agree more with Angela and we would like to wholeheartedly congratulate her on her achievement and thank her for all the hard work and dedication she puts into the cause.
